Latest Review
This is a splendid DVD that takes you on a trip to each of the different appellations in Napa Valley, with around five hours of information formatted into mini documentaries of 1 to 7 minutes. Simply pick a mini documentary and pour a DEAN & DELUCA wine from that appellation, learning all about its special characteristics while sipping along in your own home We love this as a gift for new Cali wine fans.

Will the World End???...
It seems that if you give St Helenans an inch they will take a mile: Cheers! St Helena has proven that the town's sidewalks don't need to be rolled up at 5:30, and in fact people will go out and have a great time, tasting great wines, hanging out on the street with friends old and new. If it wasn't enough fun before, music & movies are being added to the mix this month: "The Hunt Sreet Lounge", the Coffee Shop and Ana's Cantina all have bands playing, while the Cameo is offering old movies for free. Intoxicated with the discovery of life after 5pm St Helenans have gone a step further: they are raising the bar and breaking a bigger taboo: the Wine Train is going to stop in St Helena....OMG! Who knows what might happen? It will be a proper passenger train for one night a month, which means that Napans and Yountvillians can join in the fun and not terrorize us with their driving when they leave (see times below). Thin end of the wedge? We'll have to wait and see....

Escape to Scotland
If the news from St Helena is just too distressing for you: Come to Scotland, where the Worldwide Scots diaspora is returning for The Gathering 2009, which is a huge Highland Games in Edinburgh, centerpiece of which will be a march of clans up the Royal Mile to the Castle- some 8,000 Highlanders in all, including James and the Lonach Highlanders. Any resemblance to a pub crawl is purely coincidental: James is really there to add finishing touches to the upcoming Bearshead Scotland DVD.

Cheers!

Kerry and James

Charity wine auctions are a great source for rare and unusual bottlings. While prices can get quite steep at the big name live auctions (although you shouldn't forget the tax breaks, nor the karmic returns on your philanthropic self indulgences.. ), it is often well worth checking out the attendant silent auctions for more affordable gems.
We make no guarantees that this calendar is comprehensive, and would be very grateful for any suggestions of upcoming events that we should know about.
