Latest Review
What I like most about the DVD is its depth of information about the Napa Valley... Even for many who live here, including myself, there are nuances which it takes nearly a lifetime to fully experience about the many truly different areas which make up the Napa Valley

Crush! Crush! Crush!

The weather is beautiful, the grapes are coming in......you can smell it in the air and there are MANY great events at a price point for everyone this month: Release Parties, Harvest Parties, some great Auctions, and lots of freebies. So check out the Calendar for specifics. If you can't make it to the Valley there is always the Bearshead Napa Valley DVD to give you a feel for what you are missing!

Takin' It to the Streets

The first weekend in October is a test of one's urban loyalties: the final Cheers! of the season rounds off a great series of open air gatherings, for which we owe organizer Todd White a debt of gratitude. To transform sleepy St Helena into a non-stop, crowded, continental-style street party, to which even the Wine Train is welcomed, was quite a feat, and we all raise our glasses to that! Meanwhile the less staid neighboring towns are managing to keep up: Yountville celebrates Yountville Days with Parades, a BBQ at the Napa Valley Museum, a Chilli Cook-Off in the park and a Native American Tribal Pow Wow at the Vets Home. Meanwhile, Napa and Calistoga are offering a plethora of festive, outdoor musical events.

The Long & Winding Road...

Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to ride a bike down the center of the Valley from Calistoga to the Vallejo Ferry without having to share the road with cars and trucks?

The Napa Valley Vine Trail campaign is now a year old and gaining momentum. You are invited to join this noble community-wide campaign at an informational event on Oct. 25th in Yountville or visit their web site to see how you can help.

Cheers!

James & Kerry

Charity wine auctions are a great source for rare and unusual bottlings. While prices can get quite steep at the big name live auctions (although you shouldn't forget the tax breaks, nor the karmic returns on your philanthropic self indulgences.. ), it is often well worth checking out the attendant silent auctions for more affordable gems.
We make no guarantees that this calendar is comprehensive, but would be very grateful for any suggestions of upcoming events that we should know about. Sometimes events are announced or changed after we have sent out this e-mail: later in the month you might want to check the updated on-line version here
